Db2 LUW Advanced Topics

In 12 afternoon sessions (4 weeks of 3 afternoons each), we will review more advanced topics. Each week (unit) has a theme. There are no exercises with this course. This course will provide you with information you cannot find easily in the manuals like why and pros/cons of certain options. This course has a practical approach and teaches what works and what to avoid (no marketing hype). Each afternoon (approx. 2-3 hours) we will discuss Advanced DB2 topics in a live session on Microsoft Teams. Your trainer is Klaas Brant and the language is English.

This is the perfect course for anybody who has basic Db2 DBA skills but wants to know more so he or she can tune, install, upgrade, or recover DB2 with confidence. The target audience is experienced DBAs, DevOps team members, and System Administrators.

Online class using Microsoft Teams Q&A

Microsoft Teams has proven itself to be very flexible and has good video and audio quality. But maybe you or your company don’t use MS Teams. No problem! You will get an invite from us. If you already use MS Teams then the invite will add another Team (the class) to your existing Teams. If you don’t have Teams you have two options: 1. use online MS Teams in the browser or 2. download MS Team and use the MS Teams App on your PC (in general better quality). In both of these cases you don’t need a MS Teams License. You don’t have to register your email with Microsoft.

Questions we often get:

Q: Do I need a webcam?
A: No, in fact, we advise you to turn off the camera on a laptop to save bandwidth.

Q: Do I need a microphone?
A: That is handy but not a must, you can also ask question in the chat.

Q: What do I do if I have a question during the exercises or after viewing the recording?
A: Send us a message in MS Teams or attend one of the Q&A sessions.

Q: What if I miss a live session or cannot attend (e.g. different time zone)?
A: You get access to a recording of the live session. All students receive after the live session a url to the recording in the email. Please don’t share recordings!
